Women Build

Women Build Construction Update

This year we are participating in Women Build Week. We will have teams of 20 women led by female construction supervisors during the week of May 8-12. Construction Days are Tuesday-Saturday and construction times are 8:30 am-4:30 pm. We invite groups and individuals to contact us and register for this fantastic event. Space is limited, so please sign up soon!

What is Women Build Week?

National Women Build Week, sponsored annually by Lowe’s, challenges women from all walks of life to help eliminate poverty housing. Each May, during the days leading up to Mother’s Day, thousands of women volunteers join in Women Build days at Habitat affiliates. National Women Build Week helps Habitat raise awareness and recruit more volunteers to accomplish our mission. Lowe’s® is a national partner with Habitat for Humanity International and is the underwriter of the Women Buildprogram. By 2013, Lowe’s will have contributed nearly $40 million to Habitat.

What is Women Build?

Women Build is not about excluding men; it’s about including women and serving more families. Women Build volunteers serve alongside Habitat’s partner families to actively address the problem of families living in poverty. Since 1998, more than 1,400 Women Build houses have been built.
